Has anyone got knowledge of whether some manufacturer makes a 3ph trencher that will dig an offset trench behind my NH TC33D? I have roughly 4500' of water line I need to lay and it needs to be as close to a field fence as I can get it. A Ditch Witch can get w/in a couple of feet but I'd like to get even closer than that. I saw a line crew laying fiber optic cable the other day and they had something far more elaborate, like a big subsoiler w/a cable feed port, mounted on the back of a dozer. In my case I have to look out for tree roots and rocks as well.

Matt -- Thanks for the fast feedback. I took a quick look at the thread you mentioned but didn't notice any comments about whether I could position the chain off of the tractor centerline to trench directly inline with my tires. For reasons known only to "She Who Must BE Obeyed", the trench has to hug the fence.
I'll look at it again when I have more time to explore the references.
